Hi, I'm Casey, and I do words.

I'm a brand voice strategist and copywriter with over a decade of experience turning brand mythology into accessible, customer-facing messaging.

Brand Voice &
Campaign Work

Since January 2025, I've served as the Brand Copywriter at Cornbread Hemp — a Kentucky-based, family-owned wellness company and one of the most trusted names in hemp-derived THC and CBD products.

As the sole architect of Cornbread's brand voice, I own messaging across every consumer touchpoint: product pages, email campaigns, paid media, packaging, social, radio, podcasts, and more.

Here's a look at some of what I've built.

A person with dark skin and dreadlocks lying on a yellow couch, smiling and laughing with another person who is holding a can of Cornbread CBD spray, in a room with wood-paneled walls. A large overlay text reads 'Don’t Quit, Drink Cornbread'.

Campaign
Don’t Quit Drinking

January 2026

Cornbread Hemp's flagship THC Seltzer needed a “Dry January” campaign that broke the mold of oversaturated abstinence messaging. Rather than positioning ourselves as yet another alternative to alcohol, we turned the concept on its head.

The result was Don't Quit Drinking, a campaign built around radical permission:

We're not here to tell you what to give up. Whether you're replacing alcohol entirely or just swapping one drink at your next get-together, Cornbread gives you options.”

That message carried across paid ads, web, email, and on-premise retail.

A display of colorful canned beverages from the brand Cornbread with various flavors including raspberry limeade, salted watermelon, blueberry breeze, peach iced tea, and more, accompanied by a sign stating, “Dry January now with more options.”

New Product Launch
Functional Mushroom Gummies
February 2026

Launching a line of functional mushroom products under a brand whose name was built on hemp isn't a simple product drop; it's a full-on category and positioning shift.

The messaging challenge here was threefold:

  • Introducing a completely new product category to existing hemp customers

  • Welcoming new customers who'd never even heard of Cornbread Hemp before

  • …and doing both while making it unmistakably clear that mushroom gummies belong in the Cornbread family

Our strategy included a launch framework built around brand assimilation: anchoring the new in the familiar. Cornbread's mushroom gummies were a new product crafted to the exacting standards customers already trusted, including a commitment to natural ingredients, expert formulation, and complete transparency at every step of the process.

This messaging had to earn trust from two audiences simultaneously, without losing the distinct voice and values that made those audiences loyal in the first place.

Campaign
Cornbread Before Bed
March 2026

Every March, National Sleep Month gives us a reason to meet people exactly where they are and speak to the ritual of rest.

Cornbread Before Bed is a seasonal campaign built around one of our customers' most universal struggles: getting a good night's sleep without synthetic or artificial ingredients like melatonin or sedatives.

This campaign leans into the full ritual of sleep—the nightly habits we use to wind down, the importance of consistency, and permission to stop stressing and start snoring—and positions Cornbread Hemp's sleep products as the natural, trustworthy companion for all of it.

It's one of our most consistently high-performing campaigns because the messaging doesn't have to work hard to be relevant—and the relief of a good night’s rest is universal!
